Prayer Treatment: I Live in Thankfulness
There is truly only one underlying, overriding intelligence, wisdom, and power that is present all around us. It is our Higher Power, the Highest Power. It penetrates, permeates, and courses through us at all times.
I breathe in and know that I am one with this Power, call it Spirit, Mother Nature, God, the Infinite, or call it nothing at all. I sense It and know that It operates within me, just as I operate within It.
I live in thankfulness every day. I set a special intention this precious month when we set aside time to gather with friends and family members -some we easily adore, others who challenge us to practice the principles – and know we are willing and able to be thankful for each and all. I am grateful for the perspective I have gained in my recovery. I am grateful to be sober today and grateful for the tools to stay that way through all of the gatherings, and each of the emotions the holiday season brings.
I stay awake to the goodness, thankful for my successes, thankful for my failures. And as more layers of the onion are peeled, my gratitude deepens.
I cast a kind glance on the departing month, knowing I am a different person than I was at its onset, and embrace a new month brimming with all of life’s gifts, including health, love, joy, and abundance, and awareness.
With extra gratitude I release these words to the Law knowing it is done. I inhale, exhale, and smile.
… and so it is.
In gratitude, harmony, and support,
